The Funding Bodies

The study is supported in partnership between Breast Cancer Now and The Institute of Cancer Research.

Breast Cancer Now

Breast Cancer Now is the UK's largest breast cancer research charity. We fund research that is entirely focused on breast cancer and our aim is that by 2050, everyone who develops breast cancer will live and be supported to live well.

In January 2008 we achieved the £12 million target for start up and running costs for the first 10 years of the Generations Study, the final funds coming from a glittering Disco and Diamonds Ball. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the Breakthrough Generations Appeal Board for their commitment to making this study possible and to all those who gave so generously.

The on-going analysis costs of the Generations Study are being met by Marks & Spencer, through their support of Breast Cancer Now. Marks & Spencer are Breast Cancer Now's largest corporate supporter and we would like to thank them for their continued support of our work.

The Institute of Cancer Research

The Institute of Cancer Research is one of the world's leading cancer research organisations and is internationally renowned for the quality of its science. The Institute is a college of the University of London and works in partnership with The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.
