The study has been approved, under the procedures for national medical research studies, by the South-East Multi-Centre Research Ethics Committee. The data are held in confidence, in accordance with the Data Protection Act. The Institute of Cancer Research is registered under the Data Protection Act.
All personal information collected during the course of the research will be treated in the strictest confidence and kept under the supervision of Professor Garcia-Closas, who is a medical doctor. The study team will not pass on personal information to anyone outside the study team, and no individually-identifiable information will be published.
